Hair Expo 2013…Every Year over the Queens Birthday long weekend in June, Sydney plays host to the Australian hairdressing industries biggest event of the year. Hairdresser from Australia, New Zealand and from all over the world come to the highly regarded show and tell event.This year I had the pleasure of working on the Beck Suns show as apart of the Generation Next Show.The Generation Next event showcases the talent of up and coming artists as well as those artists already established within the industry.I created the underpinnings for the head pieces, which as you can see from the pictures were very large. |

I used a Aluminium strip for the Interior structure….. |

Covered in fabric and also padding on the inner surface for model comfort. |

All of the models had there hair braidedor corn rowed as the first step.Pre made fringe as the second.The components were made individually and sawn to the head that day.The aluminium base was sawn onto the braids from the top of the head aroundto the back of the head. |

The entire head needed to be covered in pre-made braids to coverthe under pinnings of the construction. |

This years Expo was a great experience because it made me use all of my Millinery, Sawing and hairdressing skills to help create these beautiful hair structures. |
