Alex PF Jackson Hair & Makeup
Alex Jackson has been hairdressing for over two decades. Born in Northern NSW, he moved to Sydney in 1991 to begin what would morph into a brilliant hairdressing career.
Alex was educated by Peter Wilson, the senior Pivot Point educator. He has formal qualifications in Fashion, Costume and Millinery from Sydney TAFE.
Alex is highly regarded amongst clients and industry professionals for creating beautiful hair styling and hair colouring, as well as specialised photographic fashion shoots for magazines.
From 1991, Alex has worked in several influential salons including: Partners Hair Workshop in Glebe, Aiello Hair & Health in Balmain, Raw Hair in Darlinghurst, and Bauhaus Hair in Waterloo.
He works on fashion shows – including the White House School Fashion end of year fashion Parade; advertising campaigns – including a Jigsaw Spring Summer campaign; and TV shows - including the hugely successful Network Seven talent show ‘X Factor’. Alex also works on education events all over Australia, and was assistant director at the Australian Hair Expo Generation Next Show Pivot Point, in Sydney in 2011.
Alex has also worked extensively on Australian theatre productions and was ‘wig master’ for long runs of esteemed shows at Sydney’s Footbridge Theatre.
Alex was awarded Hairdresser of the Year in 1997 and 1998 in the National and State championships. He was awarded first prize in the International Hair Stylist National Hairdressing Awards QLD, was the National Finalist at the Australian Hair Expo International Cutting Competition, and Finalist in creative colour at the International Hair Stylist National Hairdressing Awards. He also won first prize in the Catwalk Model Competition, in Brisbane 2002.
Says Alex of his passion: “I believe hair is a way a person can express their individuality, as well as make a statement in ‘wearable fashion’. Using quality products and offering sound product knowledge, hair should be wearable and easy to maintain. Ensuring best practice in customer service and client satisfaction is also a priority. My professional interest lies in finding a balance between client-based work and experience with experimental and creative expression. This includes fashion parades, editorial and education.”
In April 2012, Alex created a new business - AlexPFJackson hair and makeup - in Darlinghurst. He made the decision to use La Biosthetique, which includes a broad range of products for hair and body.
“I’m a certified La Biosthetique scalp specialist, so this means I am able to determine clients’ scalp needs.
“I have undertaken some advanced education to ensure I am a scalp specialist, which enables me to understand the symptoms a client has with their scalp, and provide correct diagnosis of complex scalp conditions.
Typically, on your first visit, Alex will introduce clients to La Biosthetique with a scalp test to address any scalp concerns they may be experiencing.
“I also offer my clients extra services while having their colour process which is the Dremosthetique eye patch treatment, as well as a luxury hand cleanse, moisturise and massage. With this, I can pamper my clients with extra services bring the salon experience to another level of service.”
And this is just another element that truly sets Alex PF Jackson apart from the rest. An appointment to visit Alex is a must to experience all he has to offer.
